STM - Suspension Tom Mount System
DW's patented STM (Suspension Tom Mount) system allows the drums to vibrate freely, allowing for maximum resonance while maintaining drum stability. Drum resonance dampening is minimized, and drum tuning is simplified to the maximum. In this system, there are no washers, sleeves, or other elements that could inhibit the drum's resonance.
True-Pitch Tension Rod System
To give drummers more control over their sound, DW created the "True-Pitch" tension rod system. The rods feature 5mm threads instead of the 12/24 standard on other drums. For comparison, in the True-Pitch system, there is 1 thread every 0.8 mm (about 20% more threads), whereas in other drums, 1 thread occurs every 1.05mm. The result is a tuning process that allows for greater precision.
"Throw-off" Snare Strainer
Eco-X series snare drums are equipped with the chrome MAG throw-off system. The intentionally simple design of the MAG system is very fast and convenient to use. This is thanks to the horizontal snare wire tension adjustment and the smooth, easily adjustable mechanism. The system takes its name from the magnet integrated into the throw-off system. When the strainer handle is in the closed position, it will not release without a slight tug. When you want to release the snare wire tension, pull the handle gently, and the snare wires will quickly move away from the drumhead, thus avoiding the characteristic buzzing.
