Description
The new offering from the D’Addario-owned brand Evans marks the market's first drumheads whose coating is cured using UV radiation (ultraviolet radiation). UV1 drumheads are the result of years of research, experimentation, and continuous product development. As Evans reports, thanks to the new curing technique, the drumheads feature unparalleled strength, durability, surface texture, and versatility. UV1 has also been equipped with a new, single-ply 10-mil coating providing warmer tonal characteristics and greater resistance to stretching and damage.
New solutions have been combined with Evans Level 360 technology, resulting in—as the manufacturer assures—the most versatile and durable 10-mil drumhead coating on the market, intended for an exceptionally wide range of musical applications and aimed at drummers tired of the peeling, cracking, and wearing out of traditional drumheads. An additional benefit of UV1 is the increased surface texture, making the drumheads more responsive to, for example, brush playing.
