As part of this unique product line, the Meinl R&D Dual Crash 20" stands out with an extraordinary explosion of sound.
Even with a gentle stroke of the stick tip, it releases an incredible amount of sound energy. However, with a normal edge attack, we are dealing with a cymbal that doesn't just sound but is felt throughout the whole body.
Although its sound fits into the territory characteristic of trash/china type cymbals, it still maintains a natural crash feel and allows for a much wider range of use due to its longer decay time.

Its unusual "dual" finish is the result of precise hammering of raw sheet metal made of high-quality B22 bronze in the central part of the cymbal. It is a combination of traditional blacksmithing craftsmanship with a modern approach to sound. The outer edge and the bottom of the cymbal have been finished in a high gloss, adding not only elegance but also influencing its sonic characteristics.
