Each drum in this series features a 10-inch hardened steel shell with precision laser-cut tongues for accurate and consistent tuning.
The Pearl Tongue drum can be played with fingers or with a set of mallets included with each drum.
An optional tongue drum bag (PTDB10B) can be purchased separately.

Tongue drums derive their name from the tongue-shaped areas where you strike the instrument. The result is a cosmic blend of sounds that are as fun to listen to as they are to play. Pearl offers 6 tongue drums from the Awakening series, three 8-note drums and three 9-note drums tuned to different pentatonic scales.

A portion of sales from Pearl's Awakening Series tongue drums is donated to the Rhythmic Arts Program. (TRAP) educates individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as typical young children, using a unique methodology that includes rhythm as a way of addressing basic life skills and learning, as well as reading, writing, and arithmetic.
