Snareweight Insert 70's for #5 Brass - leather damping insert
Snareweight Insert 70's is a leather damping insert designed for Snareweight Brass dampeners. The element is used to increase overtone control and shorten drumhead sustain, especially when a dry, more focused snare sound is needed.
The insert is made from USA Grade Leather. The 70's model was designed to reduce the ring of the batter head more strongly and give the snare drum a more controlled, classic character. It can be used for stronger damping or as an additional element to match the dampener response to a specific drum and tuning.
The logo side has a harder and less absorbent surface. Placing the insert with the logo side facing the drumhead can give a slightly brighter effect, while placing the softer side against the drumhead usually gives more damping and shorter sustain.
