The new Yamaha single bass drum pedal is a combination of exceptional engineering capabilities, custom performance, and stunning design, marking a completely new approach by the Japanese manufacturer in the field of percussion hardware.

Yamaha's design was inspired by the YZF-R1 motorcycles produced by the brand. The lightweight, cast aluminum footboard features chrome exterior elements that contrast beautifully with the matte black of the beater and spring mechanism, brushed steel, and polished blue components. The electric blue color of the bearing housing and the white Yamaha logo on the footboard create a distinctive look that was missing from the company's previous pedals.

In addition to visual improvements, Yamaha has built a range of great new components that help customize the playing feel, improve performance, and increase stability. In the double chain model, you can choose the starting cam position, which affects smoother action with even tension throughout the pedal stroke, or action with a lighter feel at the beginning but a stronger pull in the final phase of the stroke, drawing more attack out of the drum.

The pedal is equipped with footboard bearings that replace standard linkages, providing incredibly smooth response. The footboards were designed in a way reminiscent of some longboard-style pedals.

The round, massive felt beater is equipped with a weight adjustment system. The spring nut on the beater shaft can accommodate the included steel or brass weights to increase the default weight. Simply slide the nut down, insert one or both washers to select your preferred weight, and start playing!

One of the most functional patents in the new Yamaha pedal is the spring tension adjustment system, which, compared to the standard mechanism located perpendicular to the floor, is angled directly towards the player. This allows for comfortable and ergonomic tension adjustment using a knob that significantly streamlines this task. This patent will be particularly appreciated by those who like to experiment with pedal action settings and don't want to constantly move other parts of the kit to reach the pedal without detaching it from the bass drum. Retractable spurs to prevent sliding have been moved to the heel area, where the greatest pressure is applied during playing. Mounting to the drum hoop is done via a rubber-protected clamp, and the tightening wing nut is located on the side of the base plate for greater user convenience.
