Description
Black Wax series snare drum. Named for its hand-applied wax, which protects the wooden shell from the outside and provides a dark, matte finish. Maple wood provides a warm, natural sound and a balance of mid and low tones. The snare's dimensions allow it to be tuned quite low without losing sound quality.
"Throw-off" snare strainer
The Black Wax series snare drum is equipped with a chrome-plated MAG throw-off system. The intentionally simple design of the MAG system is very fast and convenient to use. This is due to its horizontal tension adjustment and smooth, easily adjustable mechanism. The system takes its name from the magnet integrated into the throw-off. When the strainer handle is in the closed position, it will not release without a slight tug. When you want to release the snare wire tension, pull the handle gently, and the wires quickly move away from the drumhead, thus avoiding the characteristic buzz.
