The drum shells are made from 7-ply poplar wood. Gretsch's signature 30-degree bearing edges guarantee greater tuning range and a clearer sound. The shell surface is covered with a durable black wrap, giving the kit an elegant look.

Proper drumhead tension is provided by 1.6mm chrome triple-flanged hoops for maximum durability. Thanks to the ball-and-socket tom holder, precise positioning of the toms is possible, increasing playing comfort.
