7-ply maple shells. Maple shells provide a classic, warm, and full sound. 30-degree bearing edges - just like on the flagship Gretsch USA Custom model. The updated GTS suspension system for Renown series toms features four points of contact using the lugs, while being extremely lightweight to ensure long drum resonance. The shells are coated on the inside with Gretsch's signature "Silver Sealer".
