Istanbul Agop Signature series cymbals are a tribute to the great artists associated with this company. The cymbals, created according to their specifications, reflect the sound and character of these legendary drummers.
Mel Lewis was an outstanding jazz drummer who was the first endorser of the Istanbul Agop company and effectively "introduced" it to the wider musical community. After his death in 1990, his cymbals were returned to the factory, where the Mel Lewis Signature series was created based on them, copying every detail of the cymbals previously selected by the Master. These are instruments with a noble, classic, and timeless sound.
The 1982 Mel Lewis Signature Ride is a cymbal with a full, open sound and a warm sustain.
