Description

This is the fifth edition of the popular Mapex Saturn series. It is a flagship model dedicated to professional drummers. It performs excellently in all conditions, both on stage and in the studio. The drum shells are a hybrid of maple and walnut. Toms consist of 6 wood plies, while the bass drum consists of 8 plies. Mapex has adopted the "Tune Less, Play More" principle, aiming to make tuning easier for users. This was achieved through the use of SONIClear technology - a specially ground and profiled bearing edge designed for better and easier drumhead fit, allowing for easier seating of the drumhead on the shell and easier tuning, providing the best sound control. Because the drumhead adheres better to the shell, we get a better sound. This technology also speeds up and simplifies kit tuning. Mapex introduced not only the SONIClear system to the Saturn V kits, but also the new SONIClear Tom Clamp. The new SONIClear Tom Clamp system allows free vibration of the drumhead and prevents energy transfer into the hardware, significantly increasing resonance and eliminating dead tones resulting from mounting toms on stands.
