Description
The C2 (C Squared) Ride was designed in collaboration with Meinl Cymbals artist Chris Coleman and perfectly combines the elements Chris needed while using many cymbals with different sounds. Thus, a versatile yet powerful 21-inch ride cymbal was created.
The cymbal has a high profile and is quite thick; this combination of weight and shape works together to emphasize the desired articulation. The holes around the edge are a rare feature on ride cymbals, but they were added to control the wash and sustain characteristic of larger cymbals. They also increase the stick definition that Chris wanted to stand out in the mix.
While the bell is thick enough to cut through any frequency range, hand hammering gives it a warm and earthy tone to bring out more musicality. The unusual look of this cymbal with its raw, unfinished surface and holes combined with its intense sound will make everyone notice when you add it to your kit.
