In the era of current changes in the art of drum set playing, it has become necessary to search for new technological solutions that significantly impact the sound of individual drums in the kit. Drummers have forced manufacturers to design tom-tom suspensions so that the shell resonates without any interference, and its thickness has also been minimized. Drumhead manufacturers are constantly working on designing a drumhead that, while transmitting the noble sound of the drum, also eliminates all undesirable acoustic phenomena. New generations of single- and double-ply drumheads are being created, partially or fully filled with an absorption agent. However, currently even the best drumheads cannot fully satisfy musicians by providing the expected sound. What drummers most often dislike is the booming, thumping, and blurry sound of toms full of shrill overtones. A floor tom, in addition to its beefy, low sound, also produces many undesirable phenomena in its acoustic range that discourage further playing. This state of affairs has prompted some drummers frustrated with the sound of their drums to creatively seek new solutions.

FLORING is a new Palisso Percussion product made from an exceptionally thin and ultra-light membrane, covered on one side with visco-cotton flock. Millions of protruding hairs act as a type of absorber for all undesirable effects accompanying the creation of sound on individual drums in the kit. The surface of the floring does not emit the slightest noise during membrane vibration, which is particularly important when recording in the studio. When using traditional polyester o-ring type dampeners, a hissing sound resulting from the contact of two polyester surfaces can be heard. The use of floring has completely eliminated this phenomenon. The structure and high shape memory of florings make them resistant to deformation caused by accidental stick strikes. While playing with floring, there is no phenomenon of choking the drum sound and reducing their dynamics, as they are very light and vibrate along with the drumhead.
