In the era of current changes in the art of drum kit playing, it has become necessary to search for new technological solutions that significantly impact the sound of individual drums in the kit. Drummers have demanded tom-tom suspension designs that allow the shell to resonate without the slightest interference, and its thickness has also been minimized. Drumhead manufacturers are constantly working on constructing heads that, while conveying the noble sound of the drum, also eliminate any unwanted acoustic phenomena. New generations of single- and double-ply drumheads are emerging, partially or entirely filled with an absorbent material. However, today, even the best drumheads cannot fully satisfy musicians by providing the expected sound. What drummers most often dislike is the booming, thumping, and blurry sound of toms, full of shrill overtones. The floor tom, besides a beefy, low sound, also produces many unwanted phenomena in its acoustic range, which discourage further playing. This state of affairs has prompted some drummers, disappointed with the sound of their drums, to creatively search for new solutions.

FLORING is a new product by Palisso Percussion made from an exceptionally thin and ultra-light membrane, covered on one side with viscose-cotton flock. Millions of protruding hairs act as a type of absorber for all unwanted effects accompanying sound production on individual drums of the kit. The surface of the floring does not make the slightest noise during membrane vibration, which is particularly important during studio recording. When using traditional polyester O-ring type dampeners, a hissing sound can be heard resulting from the contact of two polyester surfaces. The use of floring has eliminated this phenomenon completely. The structure and high shape memory of florings make them resistant to deformation caused by accidental stick hits. When playing with a floring, there is no choking of the drum sound or reduction in dynamics, as they are very light and vibrate together with the drumhead.
