The physics of drum resonance meets its match.
For the first time, a completely unrestrained, tonally uncolored sound can be extracted from mounted toms thanks to the Pearl R2 Air Tom Suspension system.

Its exclusive four-point floating isolation platform was developed after a two-year R&D journey. Mounting weight is evenly distributed across two moving points at the top and bottom of each tom. This ensures true tonal separation from mounting hardware and improves sound quality.

Resonance and tone can be precisely fine-tuned by adding the included rubber IsoDisc disks at one of the four tension points. Available for both the new GyroLock-L and the standard Pearl 7/8" pipe arm.
R2 Air improves the overall tone of the entire drum kit, creates a transition bridge between toms and floor toms, and ensures optimal sound at any angle using a single adjustment point.

Characteristics:

• Totally Balanced Floating Tom Mount - utilizes an exclusive Dual Arc design to shift the mounting weight to the actual center of the tom. Its exclusive floating isolation platform is divided into two corresponding points at the top and bottom of the drum, ensuring total sonic balance and consistent sound at any mounting angle.
  
• DamperDisks - Included with the R2 Air are Pearl's completely unique DamperDisks, which allow you to customize the amount of sustain instead of using gel dampers or tape. Use one DamperDisk for a mild reduction in sustain and add more to any of the four pivot points to reduce it even further. Each DamperDisk can be placed between the bottom Radial Mount Plate and the lugs to have a greater impact on the amount of sustain reduction.
• ResoDisk Floating Contact Points - Each corresponding point features lightly padded rubber ResoDisks, which not only separate the mounting hardware from the shell but also enhance the primary sound of each drum, uniting the entire drum kit into a fluid, single instrument.
