PEARL Reference One Shell Set 20"/10"/12"/14"/16" – Reference Recipe

This is a premium acoustic drum shell set from the Pearl Reference One series, based on the Reference Recipe concept. In this construction, each drum has specifically selected shell materials and thickness for its size, so the bass drum, toms, and floor toms keep their own sound character.

The 20" x 14" bass drum is made from a combination of mahogany and maple, giving it deep low end, a tight punch, and good control of sustain. The 20" size works well in situations where a strong rhythmic foundation is needed, but with a faster response than larger bass drums.

The 10" x 7" and 12" x 8" toms have a clearer, more focused character. Maple and maple/birch shell constructions respond well to articulation, provide clear attack, and allow selective fills. The 14" x 14" and 16" x 16" floor toms provide a fuller sound, more sonic weight, and stronger low end across the whole kit.

The set is equipped with MasterCast hoops, STL-100 lugs, 12 mm L-Rod mounting, and the R2 Air Tom Suspension system. These solutions improve tuning stability, reduce unnecessary shell dampening, and allow the drums to resonate more freely. This kit is designed for stage work, studio use, and professional playing in demanding conditions.
