The mid-range TD-27KV2 kit offers the immersive sound and response found only in V-Drums. At the heart of the TD-27 is a powerful, updated sound engine filled with high-quality, customizable drum and cymbal sounds. Advanced digital technology captures every nuance of your playing, while oversized drum pads and cymbals offer an exceptional feel in a spacious acoustic-style layout.

Larger pads and cymbals

Many electronic drum kits feel different from acoustic ones, mainly due to smaller pads and height. The TD-27KV2 defies this rule by offering large-diameter pads and cymbals, so its spacious layout will feel immediately familiar to any drummer. The kit includes a KD-10 kick pad, a 14" snare drum, a 10" PDX floor tom, and two 10" PDX rack toms. Cymbals include a 14" VH Hi-Hat, 12" and 14" CY Crash pads, and an 18" CY Ride. The MDS rack is an additional asset.

Roland’s cutting-edge pad technology adds even more realism to your V-Drums experience. Digital snare and ride cymbal pads connect to the TD-27 module via USB cables and, together with the sound engine, provide the most natural expression, allowing your skills to shine. Thanks to multiple sensors and lightning-fast processing, you get an incredible response that allows for true techniques to be used in the most natural way. Subtle ghost notes, rim shots, and cross sticks are all accurately captured and translated on the snare drum, while the ride cymbal offers a wide range of tones and the ability to subtly choke the sound via the body.

New cymbal type for even greater playing pleasure

The TD-27KV2 is equipped with a new type of cymbals that are noticeably thinner and feature a multi-sensor system for an even more authentic response. As an added bonus, they can be choked with the classic edge grip known from traditional cymbals.

Derived from the flagship TD-50, the TD-27 sound module is full of percussion that comes to life just like acoustic instruments. It features samples of the finest drums, percussion, and cymbals—classic and modern—recorded in world-class studios. Roland's unique Prismatic Sound Modeling technology is then applied, bringing them to life with behavioral modeling perfected over more than two decades. When you strike a drum or cymbal, you're not just triggering a recorded sound—you're playing a full-fledged instrument that responds in every way like its acoustic counterpart, putting an unmatched range of tones at your fingertips.

Create and customize your own unique kit

With acoustic drums, you create your own sound by changing shell types, adjusting tuning, damping, snare wire tension, changing the bass drum beater, and so on. With the TD-27 module, all of this is possible, and you can create special kits for every situation. Simply select a pad with a strike, then use manual controls and intuitive editing tools to create the sound you desire. Additionally, your edits are saved automatically, so you can always stay focused on playing. You can even load your own samples, layering them with internal sounds for an even more individual kit.

PureAcoustic Ambience Technology

New PureAcoustic Ambience technology optimizes each rig to create an incredibly natural and immersive sound field during play. You can go even further and adjust the microphone position on each rig to capture the full sound with newly developed overhead mic simulation. Advanced built-in multi-effects and mixing options represent the power of a studio console as you control transients, parametric EQ, compressors, Reverb, Delay, and more.

Powerful performance and studio connectivity

The TD-27KV2 offers fantastic sound for live performance and recording, thanks to a wide range of connection options. The TD-27 module features stereo outputs for the overall sound, plus two direct outputs for routing the kick, snare, or other sounds to a console for separate mixing. In the studio, the built-in USB audio interface makes computer music production easy, offering up to 28 audio channels via a single cable. Standard MIDI is also supported via USB and a dedicated interface, allowing you to connect to other MIDI devices and trigger sounds in computer software.
