The full cymbal set includes a 12-inch V-Hi-Hat, 14” crash (both with thin profiles and textured finishes), and an 18” ride, ensuring excellent playability and a natural look on stage.

Roland's state-of-the-art digital pad technology provides even greater realism for V-Drums play. Digital snare and ride pads connect to the TD-27 module via USB cables, working with the sound engine to deliver the most natural expression, allowing you to hear the drums with incredible detail. Multiple sensors and lightning-fast processing provide amazing response, allowing you to play traditional techniques in the most natural way. Ghost-notes, rim shots, and cross sticks on the snare are precisely detected and processed, while the ride offers a wide tonal range and the ability to subtly mute at the touch of the shell or bell.
Natural Feel of Acoustic Drums
Roland's legendary multi-layer, adjustable mesh drumheads significantly contribute to the authentic playing feel, providing rebound that can be tailored to your individual playing style. And when you activate the beater in the specially designed kick, you move the air inside the shell, producing air pressure and resistance that is incredibly similar to an acoustic strike.

Roland's unique Prismatic Sound Modeling is then applied to the samples, bringing the captured sounds to life with behavior modeling refined over two decades. Every time you strike a drum or cymbal, you're not just triggering a sampled sound - you're playing a full instrument that responds like its acoustic counterpart in every way, with an unprecedented sonic range.
Create Your Own Drum Kit
With acoustic drums, you customize the sound to your needs by swapping drumhead types, adjusting tuning, applying muffling, tweaking snare wire tension, changing the beater, and much more. All of this is possible with the TD-27 module, allowing you to create unique kits for any situation. Simply strike a pad to select it, then use practical and intuitive editing tools to get the sound you like. Your changes are saved automatically, so you can stay focused on playing. You can even load your own samples and layer them with internal sounds to further personalize your kits.
Chrome Drum Stand
The way acoustic drums and cymbals are mounted not only reflects a classic image but also affects the feel during play. The tom pads are mounted on the same stands used for acoustic toms - so they feel right when you hit them. The newly developed thin V-Cymbals are also attached to the stands with a special pivot mount, providing a natural acoustic-style "swing" when played. Each stand is double-braced, providing stability and easy adjustment to suit your preferred setup.
PureAcoustic Ambience Technology
New PureAcoustic Ambience technology optimizes each kit, creating an incredibly natural and immersive sound field while playing. But you can dive in and adjust the microphone position on each drum kit and choose the overall sound with the newly developed overhead mic simulator. Advanced built-in multi-effects and mixing functions give you the power of a full-scale studio console, with transients, parametric EQs, compressors, reverbs, delays, and much more at your command.
Connectivity Power for Stage and Studio
The VAD503 provides fantastic sound during live performances or recording, thanks to many connectivity options. The TD-27 module has stereo outputs for the overall drum sound, as well as two direct outputs for sending the kick, snare, or other sounds to an audio console for independent mixing. In the studio, the built-in USB audio interface makes computer music production easy, with 28 audio channels available via a single cable. MIDI is also supported via USB and dedicated I/O, allowing for synchronization with other MIDI devices and triggering sounds in computer software.
Easy Kit Expansion
With the VAD503, you're not stuck with a fixed configuration. Using the TD-27 module's three auxiliary trigger inputs, you can easily add tom and cymbal pads to bolster your arsenal. Or you can achieve maximum impact with an impressive double bass drum pedal setup. Whatever you're thinking, the auxiliary trigger inputs are the key to your ideal drum configuration.
Bluetooth Connectivity and Built-in Practice Tools
Built-in Bluetooth lets you wirelessly stream audio from a phone or laptop to the module, making it ideal for playing with headphones. Play along with your favorite tracks or mix the audio from a YouTube lesson video with the kit. Onboard coach functions develop skills and track your progress, while an advanced metronome helps improve your internal clock. At any time, you can record your playing and listen back to find out what you need to work on.
