Description

TAMA Dyna-Sync double bass drum pedal.

  • Optimized transmission system
Thanks to the precise setting and alignment of the transmission angles of the contact point between the cam, linkage, and footboard, Tama has achieved a great balance in its product.
  • Double linkage
To convert the force of the rotational movement from the footboard to the cam, Tama has developed a solid double-link cam connection system that holds the rotation axis bearings equally on both sides. This results in an almost perfect energy transfer from the footboard to the cam and creates phenomenal response speed and power.
  • Slidable Cam
The upper section of the cam slides in both directions in a "stepless" action to adjust its turning radius. A larger turning radius provides a more linear motion between the footboard and the beater and ensures a high degree of sensitivity. A smaller turning radius results in a more dynamic (non-linear) motion. The Slidable Cam gives us a high possibility of personalization and adjustment to various playing styles.
  • Footboard angle adjustment
Drummers have begun to recognize and appreciate independent adjustment of the bass drum footboard angle as an important feature that helps tailor the pedal to their individual technique. This inspired Tama to focus on the Dyna-Sync design and create a completely new and unique footboard angle adjustment. The Dyna-Sync footboard angle design integrates with the handle-shaped connection point between the linkage and footboard and is fully adjustable to provide a completely personalized pedal angle adjustment.

  • Sync-Coil
This is a steel spring 1.5x thicker compared to the Cobra Coil springs used in the Iron Cobra. Sync-Coil helps return the footboard to its original position to provide an additional element of pedal speed so that drummers can customize their own level of pedal return assistance.
  • Dyna Beater
This traditional beater with black felt and a slightly tapered shape ensures an even hit on the bass drum drumhead surface to maximize clear, dynamic articulation.
  • Hinge Guard Block
Tama changed the design of the bearing hinge on the footboard from a one-piece assembly to two elements that hold the bearing more evenly - minimizing stress and maximizing the smoothness of movement, while increasing the sense of pedal power.
  • Swivel Spring
The conventional approach to mounting springs was to fix the end of the spring while its upper part is pulled from different angles throughout the pedal's movement cycle. But a spring pulled at an angle causes loss of energy and vibrations. The Swivel Spring Tight Assembly solves this problem by recovering lost energy and optimizing smoothness through the use of a contoured assembly of parts that allow the spring base to rotate freely. This allows for a straight pull of the spring throughout the entire pedal cycle, resulting in the smoothest and lightest action on a bass drum pedal.
  • Speedo-Ring
TAMA eliminated another source of friction by replacing the traditional nylon rocker cam with the Speedo-Ring, a rocker cam with a high-quality built-in ball bearing rocker. Quick-Hook allows not only for easy setup but also ensures quick disassembly, so you can place the pedal in a hard case without removing the beater.

  • Para-Clamp II Pro
TAMA introduces the Para-Clamp II - an even more clever and useful version of the popular original. Para-Clamp II is able to grip the widest range of bass drum hoops. The improvement comes largely from the newly designed three-dimensional rubber grip. The holding power is increased and the possibility of scratching the hoop is eliminated. Moreover, usability is simplified because the tightening bolt in the Para-Clamp II Pro is located on the side of the footboard rather than under it.
  • Oiles® Bearing Hinge
Offering even less friction than standard ball bearings, Oiles® bearings also eliminate lateral movement and provide superior durability (which is why they are used in the aerospace industry).
