TAMA Starphonic Stainless Steel 14x6" snare

This model is made of 1mm thick stainless steel, which has a solid and rich resonance. Also, its R.S.E. (Resonant Sound Edge) provides an open sound and brightness reminiscent of classic metal snare drums from the 1920s.

• "Linear-Drive" Strainer (US.PAT.NO. 8017846)
  (This strainer provides more control over the adjustment arm and more precise control of the snare wire deployment movement. Even if you move the arm quickly, you won't hear the typical impact sound. Furthermore, by tilting the butt plate at a 30-degree angle, this design holds the snare cords or tape more securely and reduces unnecessary pressure on the strainer and the drum shell.)
• Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snare Wire
  (New materials, plate shape, and wire coil winding pattern exhibit greater sensitivity and a brighter, clearer sound.)

  (When the tension bolt is tightened, the claw hook is pressed against the hoop. This also increases pressure on the tension rod inside.)
• Detachable Butt Plate
  (allows you to change the resonant drumhead while keeping the snare wire tension in its original state. Simply loosen two bolts and remove the butt plate with the clips still attached. When you reattach the butt plate, the snare wire tension will be restored to its original position and calibration. The Grooved Snare Side Hoop has an open frame that simplifies handling.)

  The first factor we focused on to achieve the new snare sound was the effect provided by the shape, mass, and material of the hoop. The current design combines vintage styling with modern technology. The resonant hoop works perfectly with the Detachable Butt Plate system.
