Description
The handpan is the perfect combination of a percussion and melodic instrument. It consists of two steel bowls. The metal bowls are joined (nitrided) in a special process. In this way, the instrument obtains its structure. As part of the production process, the halves are then artistically hand-hammered. This creates indentations and small elevations in the center. These surfaces become different sound fields. The central note is located in the middle and is surrounded by a circle of eight additional notes. The Sela Melody Handpan is professionally tuned. It impresses with high-level quality and sound. The handpan has a pleasant sustain on all tones. The tones are cleanly separated from each other, which prevents overtones. This instrument is ideal for both beginners and professional musicians. Its nine notes lie on a common scale. Despite the intuitive and simple playing technique, fascinating sound patterns can be created using the Sela Melody Handpan.
