Description
Evans HD Coated is a durable, two-ply batter head for snare drums, designed for drummers who require a focused and defined sound. The construction consists of two film plies – an outer ply measuring 0.19 mm thick and an inner ply measuring 0.13 mm thick. The head also features a 0.05 mm thick overtone control ring on the underside, which effectively reduces unwanted overtones and shortens sustain.
This construction provides an even response to every stroke and produces a powerful, aggressive rimshot accent. The coated surface (Coated) increases the durability of the head and allows for smooth brush playing. Thanks to its highly controlled tonal character and reduced overtones, this model is an excellent choice for precise studio recording, while its solid construction makes it a reliable option for dynamic live performances.
